Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Hidden Message with Translation

For those that don't know, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption has a hidden message from Nintendo President Satoru Iwata. The only problem is that Iwata speaks in Japanese, but don't worry, we have a translation. Below is the hidden message and the translation:



“Hello, this is Iwata from Nintendo. You may not know from an outsiders point of view, but being a director is really hard! When things are really busy and stressful we (us directors) may look tired and sick, then people may feel sorry for us! But in my case, it’s the opposite, I get fatter and fatter, so then people don’t think I’m stressed at all!”

My Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Impressions

So, today I went over to a GameStop near my apartment and I played Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. I got to play for almost an hour, so I got a good grasp of what the game is like. So what's my Prime history? I rented Metroid Prime and I thought it was an ok game. I bought Metroid Prime 2: Echoes used really cheap at Blockbuster I think it was and thought that was ok. I had heard that Metroid Prime 3 was one of the best wii games out there and that it was better than the first two in the series, so I was looking forward to playing it. I was not disappointed.

The graphics were great and the cutscenes were fun to watch because of it, though the cutscenes would have been better if the sound was turned up on the TV there. Anyways, the gameplay was very much like the other Metroid Prime games. It had the same feel to it, which I was sort of worried about, but it actually wasn't that bad this time around. Things were a bit more straight forward and that helped. I even got a few people to ask me if they could play the game, but I refused to let them. They were kids anyways, so they wouldn't have a license and weren't allowed to play.

And of course, the topic many have wondered is the controls. I loved the controls. Being a big FPS fan, the controls worked great for the game. I do have Red Steel, and despite its issues with the controls, the controls are still fun. Metroid Prime 3 had great controls, so that made it even better. I loved using the nunchuk to pull off enemies' shields and using the wii remote to open locks and things. Aiming was very easy with the wii remote, so I was happy about that too.

All in all, I recommend getting it, or at least trying it out. Will I buy it? Maybe. I don't have much money as it is, so I'll be getting Brawl and one or two other things. Maybe one day I'll buy it, but even if I don't, it still goes up on the greatest wii games list, alongside Twilight Princess. The Corruption is here... and I like it.

Pre-order MP3 from Amazon? You might want to cancel

If you're ready to play some Metroid Prime 3 today, you'll have to wait until September 2nd says Amazon. They won't be getting their games until September 2nd, so if you pre-ordered, I suggest you cancel it and go straight to a store near you to buy it.

The Mysterious Metroid Dread

Ever heard of Metroid Dread? Well, if not, I'll explain it. Metroid Dread was announced in Game Informer magazine in June 2005, and it's a 2D side-scroller Metroid game that takes place after Metroid Fusion. Throughout the past few years, we've had sites say it's coming, some sites put it on a release list of games coming in the future, and even a site that said it's been cancelled. So what's the deal with this game, is it coming or not? The real answer is we don't know. Nothing has been said officially on the subject by Nintendo, so we just don't know. There has been no evidence from Nintendo themselves that it's coming... until now. Well, it's not really evidence, but it's a possible hint.

Today, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption ships out to stores. Well, in the second half of the game, there is a control panel you can scan. Once scanned, you get the following message:

“Experiment status report update. Metroid project ‘Dread’ is nearing the final stages of completion.”

That looks to me like a hint that Metroid Dread is indeed coming and that we'll find out about it soon. But, keep in mind, it's still a rumor for now. I just don't see why it would be in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption if it wasn't real, but that's my opinion.

New Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Videos are up!

The Valhalla and Bowling videos are up. I can't tell you how they are because I'm at college and my Wii is at home, but I'll tell you about them this weekend.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption to use WiiConnect24 for Achievements

A GameFAQS user went to their local GameStop and played the demo of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption there. He discovered something interesting, and here is what he posted:

Here’s a part of the game that I had no idea even existed. If you accomplish small tasks in the game, you are awarded with bonus tokens. These tokens come in four colors: Red, Blue, Green, and Gold. Red tokens are given as you scan a certain number of enemies/items. Blue tokens are given for scanning lore and accomplishing side tasks. Green I believe are when friends give you vouchers, more on that later. Gold tokens are given for beating bosses on various difficulties. You use the tokens to unlock hidden content in the extras menu. The final type of token is the “friend voucher”. Basically these are given for accomplishing some type of cool accomplishment in the game.

For example, when I beat the boss, a gold token flashed at the top of my screen saying it was for killing Lord Beserker. At an earlier point, I saved a GF trooper from being killed by two enemies. I was given a blue token for that one.

I also obtained two friend vouchers. In one case, I saved a GF trooper from being sucked into space. In another case, I killed 100 small bugs in a room before leaving. According to the game, you apparently send these “achievements” to your friends, and they give them green tokens. I think it’s a level of competition between friends to see who’s unlocked the most “achievements”. I was interested in this since there was a “Friend Roster” option and a “Configure Wii Connect 24″ option on the menu.

Nintendo Power Rates Metroid Prime 3 a 10/10

As you can see from the small and blurry scan of part of a page of Nintendo Power magazine, Nintendo Power rated Metroid Prime 3: Corruption a 10/10. I'll definitely have to look into getting this game because I love FPS games, though I think the Metroid Prime games are ok. But after seeing all the positive reviews and stuff about this game, I might have to check this out.

2 New Videos Added to Metroid Prime 3 Preview Channel

Right now you can go check out your Metroid Prime 3 Preview Channel and you'll see two new videos: one about the PED suit and one gameplay video of an air assault. The Channel also says that two more videos will be added on August 20th, which is this Monday. So, go check out the new videos!

Perrin Kaplan says more surprises coming, possibly about Metroid

In a portion of IGN's Nintendo Minute Volume 37, Perrin Kaplan said this:

To answer one of your other comments, we still have a lot of our more traditional marketing efforts planned. People will see it all shortly, from ads to many of the usual tactics we use to support our key products. Plus: a few more surprises like the Metroid Prime 3 Preview. And no, I'm still not going to spoil the fun and tell you about it ahead of time!

The way she worded the surprises part made it seem like it was a surprise about anything on Wii, but the article is about Metroid Prime 3, so it could be referring to that. A demo maybe? Who knows. All I know is that Nintendo will continue to be mysterious and that's something that I don't think will ever change.

2 new videos added to Metroid Prime 3 Preview Channel!

As promised, Nintendo has added 2 new videos to the Metroid Prime 3 Preview Channel today. They're called AURORA and Spider Ball, so go to the Metroid Prime 3 Preview Channel now and you should automatically get the new videos. Also, the channel says that we will be getting 2 more videos on August 16th. If the pattern continues, we'll get 2 more videos on August 19th, 2 more videos on August 22nd, and 2 other things (possibly videos) on August 25th. That's going by the picture in the Wii Shop Channel that shows 8 videos and 2 other things that might be videos, but don't look like it. And if the updates are every 3 days, that fits because the game releases on August 28th. So, go check out the new videos.

Get Metroid Prime 3: Corruption for $30! [UPDATED]

Target's online store has Metroid Prime 3: Corruption listed for pre-order. The best part is that it's listed for $29.99 and of course it's a typo... but, Target is honoring it so far. So, I suggest you hurry up and go to Target's site to pre-order Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. You will only have to pay $30 for the game and that's a really, really good deal. I don't think this applies to their stores too, but it might. Well, what are you waiting for? Go to Target's site, which is here, right now!

My Metroid Prime 3 Preview Channel Impressions

I just downloaded the Metroid Prime 3 Preview Channel from the WiiWare section of the Wii Shop Channel and it was interesting. The two videos were pretty cool and I like how they made a channel to promote a game. It's a great idea. This Monday, we'll be getting 2 more videos, so I look forward to that, as well as possible future updates to that channel.
