The original Super Smash Bros. for N64 had an item called the Bumper, but it wasn't in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Well, it now makes a return in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Basically, you can set it down on a stage or in midair and if touched, it will knock a person away, like a pinball. Here are some pictures:
